Dear Valued Customers and Friends,
After agonizing about it at length, we have finally made the decision, out of an abundance of caution, to keep the Guest Hus closed this year.
Over 30 percent of Lanesboro’s population, and a good number of our guests, are over 65 and thus at higher risk for COVID-19. Among them are people – including our guests – whom we care about very much.
We have sketched out the different scenarios by which we would be able to safely operate this year. In doing so, we have concluded that the reduced guest amenities (no cable, no open common areas/coffee/bike storage), and decreased booking capacity to accommodate “resting” the rooms between stays, coupled with the extra cleaning and disinfecting protocols, would not only not be cost-effective for us, but would also undermine the core values of our brand and diminish our guests’ experience.
In addition, even with our namesake “impeccable cleanliness” pledge, we are not confident that, by taking every precaution, we can guarantee the health and safety of our community, our guests, our staff, and ourselves, which is our paramount concern.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2021!
Drue and Ralph
