Great place to stay near a great bike trail
“This is a unique motel, more like a B and B, except no breakfast. It is a quaint house in a small town near the Root River Rail to Trail. The hostess, Drue, is warm and welcoming and provides everything you could possibly want. We enjoyed sitting outside, enjoying the lovely flowers in the yard, or in the lobby, where there are books, games, and puzzles, a microwave and refrigerator, coffee, and menus from area restaurants. The rooms have flower themes and are charming and clean as can be, with fresh flowers. There is indoor storage for bikes too.”

Great anniversary getaway location!
“My husband and I stayed at A Guest Hus back in the early 90s when we biked in Lanesboro. After too long of a hiatus from biking and weekend trips, we returned to Lanesboro and A Guest Hus in 2015, and again this summer. As always the stay was fabulous and Drue as the new innkeeper is wonderful. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable, the coffee great and the location perfect.”

Relaxing weekend getaway spot!
“We spent the 4th of July weekend with A Guest Hus and highly recommend it! Drue was warm and welcoming. In addition to the rooms in the main Guest Hus, she has recently started offering two small cabins for lodging. The cabins are 1.5 blocks from the main building and very charming. We brought our yellow lab along for the weekend, and the cabin was a great spot for him. It was easy to simply step outside when he needed to go out. Drue provided good coffee in the main house and was available if we had questions. We brought our bikes and floated the river – it was a great, outdoorsy weekend in Lanesboro, and the cabin at the Guest Hus was a perfect spot for us.”

Reasonable prices & SO clean!
I saw this Inn has gotten 100% rating from the health department all 25 years in business! Loved all the flower gardens and well kept yard and patio area. Their Motto ‘Home away from Home’ is absolutely how we felt.”

The Owner is wonderfully helpful!
“My husband & I stayed at Guest Hus Motel during the Bluff Country Gathering in May, 2015. Drue was so knowledgeable about the town and surroundings. We asked for possible places to eat in town and she was ‘right on’ with what we were looking for. Drue also informed me of events that were going on in the area while my husband was attending the Gathering. The Stand Still Parade in Whalan was taking place that weekend — fun! At the end of the day on Saturday, we were able to sit outside in comfortable chairs, have a glass of wine and visit with Drue and her husband. Our room was cozy and clean. A coffee maker, microwave (popcorn provided) and ice were available in the office. We truly enjoyed our stay at Guest Hus. “

Quiet neighborhood and ‘Up North’ style cabin.
“My husband and I stayed in Cabin #3 for a couple of nights this past July. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and simple ‘Up North’ style cabin. Spent our days biking the beautiful Root River Trail and walked in the evening to the local restaurants. Our car never moved between arrival and departure! The cabin was clean and covered all our basic needs including a comfy bed and armchair. Plenty of windows allowing a nice cross breeze day and night that we were able to ignore the AC provided. We slept well and appreciated the crisp, heavy cotton sheets. Glass glasses are always a plus over plastic and drinking coffee in the morning in real cups rather than cardboard is also a nice treat. Thanks Drue!”
